Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, which means an abundance of chocolates, hearts, and other sweet treats… MY FAVE. ðŸ 🬠ðŸ«
Charcuterie boards are a fun (and easy) option for any hosting occasion. And if you love sweets like meeeee, then Valentine’s Day is the PERFECT occasion to throw together a little Dessert Board. The best part? There’s no right or wrong way to do them!
So whether you’re hosting a little Galentine’s get-together with your besties, or maybe a date night with your S.O. this Love Day dessert board is a sweet and simple option you can whip up in minutes.
In a nutshell, my tips for creating the best dessert boards are to add a large variety of similar colored goodies, create dimension, and think outside the box!
First things first, you’ll need A BUNCH of different kinds of treats. Head to the store and grab some Valentine’s Day-themed sweets to use on your board. The bulk section will be your best friend, ha. I suggest going with 8-10 different items at a minimum, especially if you’re making a large board!
To fit the V-Day theme, choose pinks, reds, and whites. Anything chocolate-covered, heart-shaped, and love related is also a great match for these boards. We went all out and even got custom Eva & Co. cookies made for us by The Cookie Craving! ðŸ˜
Remember that not all of your treats have to be sugary! You can add in pretzels, crackers, or even fruit! Fruit is actually a match made in V-Day heaven. I mean.. chocolate-covered strawberries? YES PLEASE! I went with some fresh raspberries this time around and they looked so good in the mix.
PRO-TIP: Grab some small items, like M&Ms, to add in once everything is in place. They make a great “filler†for any empty spaces.
I always add a little dimension to my boards, which is actually super easy. For this one, I used bowls to hold the raspberries and cotton candy (this added some extra height to the board). Bowls are also great to keep something contained, especially when it comes to dips, but it also adds dimension and brings your board to life!
The candies you choose also add dimension to your board. Choose different shapes, sizes, and textures to make the board look more dynamic.
And finally, think about unique ways you can present your desserts to create dimension. I created marshmallow skewers fo this board and I looooove how it turned out!
Your board doesn’t have to include only edible items. I like to add a little decor for the presentation. I went with an Eva & Co. antler shed because, DUH. Antlers are so versatile, and I’ll throw them anywhere I can to spruce something up! And then the little pink florals were the perfect centerpiece.
Adding in some decor takes your board to the next level. It makes your board look even prettier while also adding eye-catching dimension as I mentioned above!
And just like that, you have a gorgeous and suuuper yummy board to enjoy for Valentine’s Day! Like I said before, there is really no right or wrong way to go about these. They’re meant to be fun, easy, and YUMMY so that’s all that matters!
All there is left to do now is enjoy!!
