I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I’m not about extreme routines or trying to “start over” every Monday. Wellness, for me, is way more about the little things I do consistently that help me feel GOOD, strong, and energized.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about doing everything. It’s about finding what works for you and actually enjoying it enough to stick with it.
Over the years, I’ve tried a lot of things. Some stuck, some didn’t. These are the habits, routines, and little wellness upgrades that I keep coming back to. The ones that make a real difference in how I feel day to day and honestly just make life more fun too.
Here’s what I’m loving lately…



Lots of eggs and wild game around here! We FEEL better when we’re fueling our bodies right. Even better when you know where your food came from. Elk is probably my favorite and I love that I can just walk into our garage, grab something out of the freezer, and know exactly where it came from.

I’m on the bandwagon. But seriously, have you tried doing squats on this thing?! It looks easy until you get on it and then suddenly your legs are like wait… what is happening. I swear it works though because I’ve seen progress. I also love hopping on it in the morning because it loosens everything up and just gets my body going.

A little extra resistance is SO GOOD as we age. I love this one from GoRuck. I’ll throw it on, crank the treadmill incline, and pretend I’m packing out an elk or hiking on a hunt. It sounds dramatic but honestly it helps so much when we actually go on those hunts. Functional fitness for the win.
The list of reasons why cold plunging is good for you is about a mile long. It is still my nemesis but I’m trying. We have the SISU Drake cold plunge and I still can’t believe I’m saying this but I actually look forward to it… sometimes. After a long day of tennis when everything is sore, it is the BEST reset. Inflammation, recovery, energy, all of it. Somehow I’ve become the person who willingly gets into freezing water. Who am I?!
