I can’t believe it’s been almost FIVE years since we built our house in North Carolina! 🤯 It started as a blank canvas with a loooot of white walls (IYKYK), but over time, we turned the house into a home filled with amazing memories. This home has seen everything from moving in with tiny baby Leni to having Boone and watching them both grow up (it’s happening so fast 😭).
I did my first set of home tour blogs as soon as we moved in. The walls were blank, and the shelves were mostly empty. It’s crazy to see how different the place looks now! From new paint colors to little DIY projects, it looks completely different. So I thought it was about time to do a NEW house tour, or should I say a HOME tour.
To kick things off, the Master Bedroom! Originally, I kept the walls almost all white so that I had a blank canvas and could turn the house into our family home. Now, usually, I’m all for the white-on-white look, but as the seasons and trends changed, I felt like I needed a pop of color in the master bedroom for a homier feel. After searching for the perfect shade of green (hello, Evergreen Fog by Sherwin-Williams) – I ran to the hardware store and started painting our room. Yup, I literally thought of this idea and made it happen all within a couple of days! Needless to say, Tim was SHOCKED when he got home. 🤣
The new color, paired with new accents I’ve added over the years, completely transformed the space into my sanctuary. The soft green gives a cozy contrast, the leather bench compliments the skull mount for a Western feel, the curtains make the space much warmer, and the luxe green blanket ties it together. And best of all, the room is still super light and airy (which I think will ALWAYS be my style, haha).
Aside from those minor changes, our master bedroom has stayed mostly the same! We invested in beautiful and classic furniture pieces from Simply Amish (designed by the one-and-only Cindy Shockey) and chose a lot of quality faux greenery to bring a touch of the outdoors in. Here are a few of my decor pieces!
Thanks for coming along on my second home tour! Lots of things have changed over the years (including my babies becoming full-blown little humans 😭), which means lots of design changes along the way. Stay tuned for more House to Home Tour content!

Although I prefer all white (because I have lots of paintings, pictures to display) I love the pop of green (my favorite bedroom color)!
