POLYWOOD furniture is my number-one go-to for our outdoor spaces.
When Tim and I were designing our dream home, I knew I wanted outdoor furniture that could hold up throughout all the seasons here in North Carolina. Y’all know by now that I absolutely love spending time outside with the kiddos and hosting family and friends. Because of that, having comfortable and stylish outdoor furniture was a huge must for me.
The moment I discovered POLYWOOD furniture, I immediately fell in love.
Alright, y’all, time to join me for a tour around our property so you can catch a glimpse at how we incorporate POLYWOOD furniture into almost every one of our outdoor spaces.
POLYWOOD was actually the first company to begin making outdoor furniture from ocean-bound and landfill-bound plastic materials and their genuine POLYWOOD lumber is made from high-density polyethylene plastic (HDPE)…think milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles, and shampoo bottles.
Yep… they literally turn recycled milk jugs into outdoor chairs and tables, which I think is so cool.
Even better, POLYWOOD furniture is designed to handle every type of weather. Between the Southern heat, humidity, and rain here in North Carolina, we needed something truly durable.
Their pieces can withstand:
So honestly, they would be perfect at my parents’ home in British Columbia, too.
Another big win? Low maintenance. POLYWOOD lumber never needs to be sanded, painted, or stained (which Tim especially appreciates). Instead, the furniture maintains its beautiful look season after season.
Alright y’all…now it’s time for the fun part.
Come along as I show you how we’ve incorporated POLYWOOD furniture throughout almost every outdoor space on our property.
Our front porch is one of my favorite places to slow down and enjoy a quiet moment.
In the mornings, I love sitting out here with a peaceful cup of coffee while the dew is still on the grass. In the evenings, it’s the perfect place for a glass of wine while watching the lightning bugs glow between the trees.
We chose the Braxton 3-Piece Porch Rocking Chair Set in Black, and it truly completes the entire look of the porch.

Just off our bedroom is a little quiet oasis where I can relax, work, or take a moment to myself. (Mamas, you know exactly what I mean.)
Although, I have to say, snuggling and giggling with Leni and Boone on our big porch swing might be the best part.
For this space, we added the Rustic Farmhouse 60″ Backless Bench in Vintage Sahara.
I also love working out here occasionally at the Nautical 31″ Counter Table, paired with the Braxton Counter Arm Chairs in Vintage White.
It’s such a peaceful little corner of the house

When we were designing our backyard, Tim and I always envisioned having a pool for family time and entertaining.
Since we love hosting friends and family, we knew this would become one of the most-used areas of our home, and we were right.
You’ll usually find Tim and the kids having cannonball contests, and Boone’s tiny jumps into the pool are honestly the cutest thing ever.
Of course, we also love relaxing poolside.
On the left side of the pool, we added several Nautical Chaises with Arms & Wheels, along with two 9’ Tilt Market Umbrellas in Vintage White.
These provide the perfect amount of shade for relaxing with a cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day.
On the right side of the pool, we created a cozy seating area for guests.
Here we have:
And of course, we couldn’t forget about the kiddos. Leni and Boone have their own adorable Kids’ Casual Chairs, which they absolutely love.
We chose the Vintage White finish throughout this area because I love how bright, clean, and crisp it looks year-round.
Just off the pool area, we also added a spot where we can grab lunch or take a break from swimming.
Here we used a Nautical 44″ Bar Table paired with Modern Curveback Adirondack Swivel Bar Chairs in Vintage Sahara.
One of my favorite things to do is sit out here with my girlfriends and chat about allll the things.

I honestly consider our back deck an extension of our living space.
It has a cozy seating area, a large picnic-style dining table, and easy access to the pool. I love sitting here and watching the kids run around while they play outside.
In the evenings, it’s the perfect place for Tim and me to unwind, listen to the crickets, and relax after a long day.
For this space, I added:
And of course, our pups love lounging out here too, soaking up the sunshine on the deck.

Well… we moved!
One of the things we knew pretty quickly when we were getting settled into our new home in Tennessee was that we needed to bring POLYWOOD back into our outdoor spaces. Having comfortable outdoor spaces was really important to us. Between the kids running around, spending time outside as a family, and having friends and family over, we knew these spaces were going to get a LOT of use.
For the pool area, we went with the Vineyard 3-Piece Chaise with Arms Set in Natural, and added the Buffalo Plaid Dune Burlap Bolster Pillows. I love how classic and relaxed this setup feels, and the chaises have quickly become one of our favorite spots to hang out by the pool.

On our porch, we added the Lakeside 4-Piece Deep Seating Set in Natural with the same Buffalo Plaid Dune Burlap Bolster Pillows that we have by the pool.
This is the kind of space that just makes you want to sit down and stay awhile, whether we’re having coffee in the morning, visiting with friends, or enjoying a quiet evening outside. This space is slowly becoming one of my favorite outdoor spaces.

And then there’s our dining area, which might be one of my favorite additions. We chose the 84″ Parsons Dining Table in Natural with the Coastal Woven Dining Chairs in Natural.
I love having a proper outdoor dining space because so much of our family time revolves around food, and there’s something extra special about sitting around a table outside together! We also love hosting, so this table is the perfect spot to bring everyone together and enjoy our new home.

POLYWOOD has been part of our home for years, but after leaving all of our furniture behind in North Carolina, getting to pick out pieces for this house made it feel like we were bringing a little piece of home with us.
And if you’ve followed along with our home tours before, you know that outdoor living is a big part of our family life. So while the house may be new, having POLYWOOD out here makes it feel a whole lot more like home.
