Time to settle in, y’all…today’s lake house tour blog takes you through the front door and inside the Great Room! The open concept space consists of the living room, dining room, and kitchen. It’s truly the heart of the home where we socialize, relax, cook, eat, and laugh (when we aren’t outside by the lake of course)!
Today, I’m going over aaaaaall the details in the living room and dining room. The kitchen needs its own blog (you’ll see why soon enough, ha)!
Alriiiiiight, enough chit chat, let’s get to it! Keep scrolling for the full tour.
As you walk through the entrance, you’re greeted with 20 ft. vaulted ceilings and large windows that let in a flood of natural light. Absolutely obsessed. When you look up, you’ll see the biggest and most beautiful lighting fixture in the house – the Lorford Large Smoke Bell Lantern from Circa Lighting. I wanted a statement piece as guests walked in, and Circa did not disappoint with this aged iron & antiqued mercury glass fixture. Speaking of a statement, you’ll notice the yellow pine wood-panelled ceiling. We opted not to stain it and, instead, painted a clear coat over the top, leaving it auuuuu natural, just how I like it!
The rest of the front entrance is furnished with the Uttermost Stratford Bench, Ruggable Sarrah Rug, and Eva & Co. pillows for a simple and uncluttered look a.k.a. one of my love languages as a Type A Mama!!
As you go further into the house, you’ll step into the open living room. The 20 ft. vaulted ceilings make the room feel HUGEEE, and better yet, they direct your attention to the show’s real star – the lake view!
This space didn’t need too much work as those beautiful built-in shelves were already there (I was sooooo excited about these since I don’t have them in my main house). We just continued the yellow pine down the back of the built-ins and used white shiplap on the fireplace to give it an extra pop.
Keeping with the natural look, I decided on a wood mantle for the fireplace. The fine folks at Raleigh Reclaimed customized this beauty for us, and it’s just what I envisioned.
The fun part was decorating (with the help of my super-talented interior designer Aunt Cindy)! I love a big chunky coffee table, so I chose the Uttermost Stratford Coffee Table with the matching Stratford End Tables.
Underneath the furniture, you’ll see the Loloi Bonney Area Rug in Ivory/Lagoon. I love Loloi rugs, and this one is so beautiful! It’s built to last, and the subtle traditional blue pattern embodies the essence of the lake.
The couches pictured (left) are my new dreamy Arhaus couches! I ordered the Kipton Sofas in Badlands Stone, and they are both stylish AND functional, not to mention the most comfortable thing I’ve ever sat on! The refined rustic accent chairs are also from Uttermost – the Encore Accent Chair.
Just off to the right of the Living Room is the Dining Room (and Kitchen – but that space needs its own blog!). This nook is perfect for dinners inside when the weather isn’t favorable to eat outside in. Just four key items make up this room – the dining set, rug, light, and mirror.
The dining set is from Pottery Barn and includes the Toscana Dining Table, Toscana Bench, and Aaron Dining Armchairs. You can’t beat the modern farmhouse design and natural wood stain.
The area rug is from one of my favorite brands – Ruggable, Sarrah Coral Rug! Ruggable rugs are machine washable and hold up beautifully over the years. A BIIIIIG PLUS with two kiddos and pups running around!
Of course, the overhead lighting fixture is from Circa – Darlana Medium Linear Lantern! The classic style and modern silhouette make it a key focal point in the space.
And finally, the gorgeous mirror is from Uttermost – Brianza Round Mirror Natural. No other words are needed to describe this stunner!
We’re almost at the end of this tour, but before I let y’all go, I wanted to show off some of the new Eva & Co. home items that you may have spotted in the photos! We added not one, not two, but THREE new pottery items with our Signature Antler Logo. We’re also releasing some beautiful greenery pieces as well as restocking some old favorites.
Thanks for tagging along with me on this tour, y’all! This one was big since we spend a loooot of time in this space unwinding from busy days outside, enjoying meals and a bottle of wine (or two), and having a family movie or game nights! So that’s it for today folks, but don’t worry, we’re just getting started! Stay tuned for more lake house tours coming soon.
