Last year, Tim and I snuck away to The Green O Resort At Paws Up in Montana for a little getaway, juuuust the two of us. Not gonna lie, it was a little strange to actually see so much of each other for so many days! We are both constantly moving/traveling in every direction and never get quality downtime together, so it was super nice to relax and enjoy each other’s company in such a beautiful place.
This trip was full of fly fishing, hiking, amazing food, countless huckleberry margaritas and a whole lot of relaxation. IT. WAS. AMAZING.
We flew right into Missoula, MT and when we arrived at the resort, the fun and relaxing (and huckleberry margaritas) started before we even stepped foot in our room. While we waited to get into our room, we were able to do a little shopping. Okay, I* did a little shopping. They have the cutest little shop on site! Tim wasn’t surprised that it took me approximately 2 seconds to purchase a hat, but the amazing hat wall at the shop sucked me right in, and I couldn’t resist!Â
This breathtaking resort offers a few different houses to stay in, but we stayed in the Round Haus. Wondering how it got its name? I’ll give you a hint… it’s round. ðŸ˜
This place was DREAMY, ya’ll. The hauses are scattered throughout the forest and hidden underneath the trees. We had fancy bracelet “keys†to get us into the room, and once we entered, we were blown away. Big windows wrapped around the round building, giving us the most breathtaking 360 views. Imagine waking up to a view that made you feel like you were sleeping in the middle of the forest. But also comfy in your room, in a nice cozy bed, with a fresh cup of coffee. ðŸ˜
The round haus also includes a hot tub out back AND a big soaker tub inside with a view of the forest. This mama never has time for a bath, so I was in absolute heaven.
To go with the amazing views, The Green O offers so many fun activities. From ATVing and other trail adventures to white water rafting and even shooting and flyfishing, they have everything an outdoor lover could ask for! Of course my back went out right before the trip, so we had to swap out a few of our planned activities, but we still ended up enjoying a nice hike and we got out on the water to fly fish!
Every time I fly fish, I am reminded of how much I really want to get into it. We had the best time on the river. It’s such an enjoyable and relaxing sport. Tim might not have been aware that he was in a fishing tournament, and that I won. 😉
Okay now let’s talk about their massage set-up. Paws Up really makes sure you are feeling one with nature, and that includes during your massage. “Spa Town” is a little village of tents lined up and connected by a little wooden boardwalk, placed right along a gorgeous meadow, giving you the most amazing view to add to the relaxation. It was so good that I almost had to steal Tim’s massage for a second round!
We were spoiled with the most delicious, next-level food while we were here, and we made sure to take FULL advantage of it. The Social Haus is centrally located just steps from every room. We gathered there everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it’s truly the hub of the resort. The Executive Chef and his team create new dishes every single night, so you never know what delciousness awaits. I LOVED how healthy and flavorful everything was (aaand it was nice to indulge in the “made from scratch” doughnut holes… drool).
The Green O left us feeling refreshed and connected with nature – juuust how we like it! We couldn’t recommend this place more, and I’m also ready to head back and/or move west asap! Tim…😅
