POLYWOOD furniture is my number-one go-to for our outdoor spaces! When Tim and I were designing our dream home, I knew I wanted outdoor furniture that would be great throughout ALL of the seasons here in NC. Y’all know by now that I loooove to be outdoors with the kiddos and entertain our family and friends, so having comfortable and stylish furniture was a HUGE MUST for me. When I discovered POLYWOOD furniture, I immediately fell in love!
POLYWOOD was the first company to begin making outdoor furniture from ocean-bound and landfill-bound plastic materials waaay back in 1990! Genuine POLYWOOD lumber is made out of high-density polyethylene plastic (HDPE for short) – think milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, you name it.
At POLYWOOD, they turn your milk jugs into outdoor chairs and tables (so cool)! Their furniture is built to endure the weather in all four seasons and climates. Can we talk about the Southern heat, humidity, and rain?! Their pieces and sets can even withstand heavy snow, salt spray, and strong winds, which would be perfect at my parent’s home in British Columbia! POLYWOOD lumber also never needs to be sanded, painted, or stained (which Tim loves – low maintenance for the win)! Instead, it maintains its original look season after season.
Alright, y’all, time to join me for a tour around our property so you can catch a glimpse at how we incorporate POLYWOOD furniture into almost every one of our outdoor spaces.
We love to sit out front on our POLYWOOD rocking chairs. It is one of my favorite places to have a peaceful cup of coffee when the dew is still on the grass or an evening glass of wine while watching the lightning bugs glow between the trees. We have the Braxton 3-Piece Porch Rocking Chair Set in Black, and it completes the entire look of the front porch.
Just off of our bedroom is a quiet oasis to sit and relax in. You can also find me working from here some days or taking a moment to myself (Mamas, you know what I mean). Although, snuggling and giggling with Leni and Boone in our large swing is hard to beat!
On our back porch, we have the Rustic Farmhouse 60″ Backless Bench in Vintage Sahara. I like to work on the Nautical 31″ Counter Table and the Braxton Counter Arm Chairs in Vintage White.
When designing our backyard, Tim and I immediately envisioned a pool. Since we love to host our family and friends, we knew this would be a great way to beat the NC heat and give us tons of memories and laughs along the way.
We use our pool regularly to play, relax, and even exercise. You’ll find Tim and the kids having cannonball contests with each other – Boone’s tiny jumps into the pool are to die for! We also enjoy lounging around the poolside, and our POLYWOOD furniture is ideal for relaxing in the sun.
Surrounding the left side of the pool, we have several of the Nautical Chaise with Arms & Wheels and two large 9′ Tilt Market Umbrella & Base in Vintage White. These provide the perfect amount of shade while sipping some lemonade on a hot summer day.
To the right of our pool, we have tons of seating for our guests. We have four Modern Curveback Adirondacks and two South Beach Adirondack Ottomans. Of course, we couldn’t forget about Leni and Boone, so we added these precious Kids’ Casual Chairs just for them! We have a few of the Newport 22″ End Tables to hold our lemonade, sweet tea, and wine. We chose the Vintage White finish for a bright and clean look outback. I just LOVE how crisp white they look all year round!
Off our pool area is a table and chair set where we have a bite to eat or take a break from swimming. We again grabbed one of the Nautical 44″ Bar Tables but paired it with four Modern Curveback Adirondack Swivel Bar Chairs, this time in Vintage Sahara finish. One of my favorite things to do is sit out with my girls and chat about allll the things!
I consider our back deck an extension of our living space. Here we have a cozy seating area, a large picnic-style table with benches, and pool supplies. I love how intimate this area feels! I can sit here and watch the kids run around or have fun in the pool. We can relax after a long day and listen to the crickets, just Tim and I. Our pups especially love to lounge around on the cool ground in the sunlight. I added two Harbour Deep Seating Chairs in Vintage Sahara with Sand cushions for this space. Separating the chairs is the cutest little side table, the Two Shelf Side Table in coordinating Vintage Sahara.
I’ve truly decked out our home with POLYWOOD furniture! I love these pieces so much that I am currently picking out which ones to include in our lakehouse, so stay tuned for another tour when it is all set up!
