For the Margarita:
For the Rim:
Optional Garnish:
Plus a goooood cocktail shaker- I’m obsessed with this one from YETI. If you use a cocktail shaker often, I highlyyyy recommend. Plus they make the perfect gift!
Step 1: Rim Your Glass
We’re going to start with our glasses and rim them first.
Run a lime wedge around the outside rim of your glass. Dip the rim into Tajín, salt, sugar, or your favorite cocktail rimmer.
Personally, I love using a sweet and salty citrus blend because it’s so good and adds the perfect finishing touch.
This is the first step in a delicious margarita, and you cannot skip this one.

Step 2: Fill Your Glass with Ice
Add ice to your prepared glass and set aside while you make the margarita.
Step 3: Mix the Ingredients
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add:
The water may sound unusual, but it helps balance the flavors and creates the perfect smooth margarita.

Step 4: Shake Until Icy
Secure the lid and shake vigorously.
You have to shake it until it gets icy. Otherwise, it’s just kind of warm and yucky.
A good cocktail shaker makes all the difference. This is my favorite cocktail shaker to use for this recipe. Shake until the outside of the shaker feels cold and frosty.

Step 5: Pour and Garnish
Strain into your prepared glass over ice.
If you’re feeling extra fancy, garnish with a dried orange slice.
Perfection.
Use Fresh Lime Juice
Freshly squeezed lime juice gives this Coconut Margarita the best flavor and keeps it bright and refreshing.
Adjust the Sweetness
If you prefer a sweeter margarita, add a little extra agave. If you like your cocktails more tart, reduce it slightly.
Make a Pitcher of Coconut Margaritas
This is the perfect drink to make for hosting! Multiply the ingredients by the number of servings you need and keep chilled until ready to serve.
Serve up a Frozen Margarita
Blend all of the ingredients with ice for a frozen Coconut Margarita that’s perfect for hot summer days.
Fun Variations to Try

There’s a reason this is one of my favorite cocktails. It’s refreshing, easy to make, and always a hit when friends come over.
The coconut tequila gives it that tropical twist, while the fresh lime keeps everything bright and balanced. It’s the kind of drink that looks impressive but couldn’t be easier to throw together.
And honestly, if you need an excuse to make a margarita, this is it. Although if you’re anything like me, you probably don’t need a reason at all.
