Leni’s Bunny Bungalow Surprise
If you’ve been following along, you know we’re a Carolina Coops family through and through, so when it came time to build a little dream home for Leni’s bunny, Pearl, there was no question who we were calling! We surprised Leni with the cutest little Bunny Bungalow for Pearl, and y’all… it turned out SO STINKIN’ CUTE I can hardly stand it!
Now, full disclosure: I love Pearl, but I was kindddd of losing my mind having her use my living room carpet as her personal litter box. After one too many “surprises” on the rug, I decided it was officially time to upgrade Pearl’s home, and that’s when Carolina Coops came to the rescue again!
They built the most beautiful little Bunny Bungalow that’s functional, adorable, and 100% bunny-approved and, most importantly, it means Pearl finally has a place to call her own (and I finally have my living room back!).
The Plot Twist
We wanted the bun bun bungalow to sit right next to our chicken coop so Pearl and the chickens could all share the same yard (because of course they’re besties now), and that meant the bungalow had to match the coop. Carolina Coops totally nailed it and it looks like a mini, bunny-sized version of our chicken palace. It’s seriously the cutest thing ever.
The day of install kicked off with what we’ll call a “creative pivot.” The Bunny Bungalow showed up a tad bigger than I pictured (I swear it looked smaller in my head!), so we had to rethink the whole setup.
Let’s just say… Tim was thrilled to learn that we may have slightly overestimated the size of the bungalow and were going to need to make some minorrrrrr adjustments to the backyard. No big deal!! Thankfully, Matt from Carolina Coops swooped in and helped us rework the plan, and found an even better spot for it. Honestly, it turned out perfect…just like I planned!
Every Bunny Detail Thought Through
When I say Carolina Coops thinks of everything, I mean everything.
They built in the cutest snuggle tunnel, added a Dutch door (because even Pearl deserves a little farmhouse flair), and filled it with HealthiStraw on the bottom.
The floor has rounded wood slats that let droppings fall right through (hallelujah), so Pearl stays clean and comfy and I get to enjoy a carpet-free cleanup life.
And for peace of mind, they even installed a predator skirt so nothing can dig in and Pearl can’t dig out! It’s safe, secure, and seriously genius.
