Hospital Bag Packing List

  1. Angie says:

Thanks for sharing, Eva! I’m also so appreciative of your “TMI” list – these are things I wouldn’t have thought of. I’m a little over 6 months pregnant and already thinking about my hospital bag. I read on another blog to pack a portable battery operated fan ( I found one on Amazon for $7 ) as well as a portable makeup mirror. Sending prayers your way for a smooth, healthy delivery ♥

  2. Betsy Scott says:

Great post!!! I’m in the process of getting my hospital bag packed right now as well. We have very similar lists but it’s alway since to compare and get ideas. Looking forward to seeing your baby list as well. Prayers and best wishes on your final countdown!

  3. Brianna Neel says:

Thank you for this! I am so lost on what to bring with me to the hospital. This is my first baby and she is due Dec 2nd, I feel like it’s flying by! This list helped a lot to narrow down to a simple small bag instead of a giant suitcase lol.

  4. Brittany Hinz says:

    Hey Eva!
I love your list!! I’m currently 28 weeks and my daughter came early at 31 weeks so my husband is making fun of me for having our hospital bag almost ready already.
You should try using coconut oil (the harden stuff in the glass jar) for lubricating (cracked) nipples instead of lanolin sometime, not only does it smell better but I swear it works so much better! It was a trick I learned during my daughters NICU stay. 🙂

  5. Lisa says:

This is amazing, thanks for taking the time to put this together!! Even though I’ve had two kids it’s nice to see what other people bring and see a list, I love a good list! Haha

  6. Sierra Smith says:

Intact care and info cards are a must for any baby boy! You can find them online at http://www.YourWholeBaby.org ?

  7. Suzette says:

Thanks for the list, especially the TMI stuff! Totally would not have thought about some of those! Currently 12w!

  8. Rebekah Cordie says:

You don’t need most of those things at a birthing center and you are allowed to eat during labor. Just keep it all at home. We had our second child with a midwife at a birth center and I will never go back to having a baby in a hospital ever again. A few hours after birth we were home snuggling our baby, not in the uncomfortable hospital for days. Look into birthing centers, it’s never too late!

  9. Crystal Olson says:

Eva!!! This list is fabulous and spot on!! Definitely bring your own pillows, the hospital ones are SO uncomfortable! You are too sweet, I’m a labor nurse and we LOVE snacks!! Thank you for thinking about us!! Good luck to you! Praying for a smooth labor and delivery for you!! Can’t wait to meet this baby boy! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!! You are Amazing! ???

  10. Lindsay says:

I would definitely recommend the birth centre as well. At ours the midwife makes you breakfast after labour. Plus it has all the same equipment as a hospital room but looks and feels more comfortable/less clinical.

    Hey Eva!
Loved seeing your list & suggestions. The 30oz Yeti was a forehead smack, for me! I’ve had two babies and am currently 25 weeks pregnant with baby #3 and have always hated how small the hospital cups are! Great suggestion!
As far as post partum recovery, I had a suggestion that was a WONDERFUL suggestion when I had my second baby – Always Infinity pads. They work so well and aren’t 4in. thick and end up bunches up in….. places. You should def give them a try!
Good luck with delivering your baby boy!

  12. Sara Bryant says:

So appreciative of this post! I’m pregnant with my first baby and I need ALLLLL the tips!

  13. Jolene Puffer says:

Perfect thank you so much for the list!! I am just a few weeks behind you for due date with baby number 4 but it has been 7 years since my last babe was born! You tend to forget what you all need in your bag! Soooo ready!!!

  14. Liz says:

    Bobby pins!!!

  15. Ashley says:

Thanks so much for all the great info! Currently expecting baby #1 and I greatly appreciated the TMI list..definitely want to keep myself prepared for the good, the bad, and the ugly!! Best wishes to you on delivery day ❤️

  16. Elizabeth Moore says:

Boost pillow!!! I was wishing I had this for my first baby and made sure to pack it for my second. (I’m 37 weeks so also in the packing stages!)

  17. Kaila Lemcke says:

Something to add was swim shorts for your other half. Sometimes labouring in the tub helps or even to help you shower after ??

  18. Gwen says:

I always bring my own oversized fluffy towel. Mine from.home were 1000% better then what the hospital offered. Other then that youre spot on with with I packed.

  19. Bri Johnson says:

Thank you so much for this list Eva! I am currently 30 weeks with our first baby. I so appreciate you writing this for all of us mama-to-be’s!

  20. Julie says:

A boppy pillow for nursing 🙂 Best of luck mama!

  21. Jessica says:
