Remember waaaay back when I originally shared Leni’s big girl room?? It seems like forever ago, but not much has changed here (other than the fact that Leni Bow is an ACTUAL big girl now). Kids grow so quickly, and their interests change with them, which is part of the reason I like to keep my kids’ room decor minimal.
It was really important to me that I found a balance between creating a child’s room that is fun and cozy but also keeping it consistent with the style of our home and not making it TOO “girly” or “young.” It doesn’t take much for them to feel excited and feel like they have a big kids’ room. For Leni, adding in some florals, and “princess” pinks, makes her feel so big, and she loves showing off her big girl room to anyone that steps foot in the house! Plus, we only have one guest room in our house, so when we have a lot of family in town from Canada, the kids’ rooms are where the overflow lands, so it’s nice to have their rooms suit them but also be comfortable for guests when they’re in town!
While Leni’s room has a minimal look to it, we took on the help of a LOT of fantastic companies to make it exactly what we wanted!!

One of the first things you’ll notice (when Leni brings you into her room to show it off), and what REALLY makes Leni’s room feel so cozy and home-y is her furniture!! We went back and forth for a while on how long to leave her in her crib or to transition it to a daybed situation…but once we found Milk Street, her old bed didn’t even come to the new house!!
Her bed is actually a convertible crib (the Relic Winchester in Cloud), just like Boone has in his room. Unfortunately, the crib days are over in this house.. womp, womppp. But having the easy transition in Boone’s room was SO nice. Leni’s room is so bright and airy, so the Cloud color is the perfect addition. I love the wood look it holds while still being light and refreshing…very modern farmhouse, just what I love!
We got her nightstands and bed from Kozy Kids Furniture in Raleigh, though you can now order directly from the Milk Street website. (The nightstands are the Relic 2-Drawer Nightstands, also in Cloud!) We chose to get a full-sized bed so that there is plenty of room for adults when we temporarily loan her room to guests, but also so she would be less likely to fall out of bed and it allows her to grow into it so we won’t need to re-buy a bed when she’s a teenager and beyond. She was SO pumped to have her big girl bed with “pretty pink princess” sheets from Beddy’s Bedding…those are Leni’s words and not mine, hah! Though the sheets are called “Pink Sugar,” so maybe she’s not too far off?! You can even use EVA at Beddy’s for 20% off these amazing bedding sets! There is a zipper on both sides of the bed, so Leni can zip it up in the morning and make her own bed, which is a dream!

The nightstands really complete the big girl bed look – just like in Boone’s room! Since she has a little walk-in closet (I’ll get to that, don’t worry!), we don’t need to store any clothes in there, so they make for the perfect little hide-away to put a couple of her toys. While most of the kid toys have their own separate area in the house, some end up finding their way into their rooms, so having the space to tuck them away is so nice! Santa is coming, so if you need extra space to hide all those toys, you’ll love this classic option!
We are so happy with all of the furniture from Milk Street. You know I put a lot into researching products before we pick something, and I’m super big on quality. When it comes to quality, Milk Street is top-notch, and their classic farmhouse look won me over the second I saw their products alllll those the years back!

Another thing that everyone notices in her room is her light fixture. It’s a regal touch from Circa Lighting (Jacqueline Flush Mount in Burnished Silver Leaf with White Acrylic) without being too over-the-top, and I feel like it will not only grow with her nicely but complements the other design aspects of her room. It provides the perfect lighting when we need it, but Pella Windows throw off some beauuuuutiful light during the day.
I didn’t want a lot of window treatments throughout the house because I love the wide open country view, but some rooms obviously needed them for privacy or darkness so Benchmark Shutters offered sleek roller shades that you barely notice until you close them. They’re also amazing because they have an automatic rod to open and close them, so there aren’t messy (dangerous) chords hanging everywhere.
While we’re talking about first impressions walking in, can we also talk about how crisp and cozy Leni’s room feels?! I love the contrast of her rustic flooring from Hallmark Floors (in the color Malibu from the Alta Vista Collection) with the white “Alabaster” paint on her walls from Sherwin Williams. Alabaster is the color we used everywhere inside of our house, and TRUST me when I say it took us a long time to find this exact, perfect color! It’s the best backdrop for Leni’s beautiful room.

I also think her room feels like a little oasis because of the shiplap behind her bed from Metrie! It’s the perfect farmhouse touch that carries over from other parts of the house and adds some great texture to the room. They even sell it primed or pre-painted, saving a TON of time if you know just what you want.

As far as wall decor, we have continued to keep it minimal, but my all-time favorite decoration is this flower-crown euro mount beside her bed. I hunted this buck while I was pregnant with her, so I wanted to include it in her room but didn’t want it to be too aggressive. I made a DIY flower crown (with faux flowers from the craft store) and hung it up, and Leni and I (and anyone else who sees it) are OBSESSED!!!! Such a unique touch that has special meaning to both of us – yes, yes, and YES!

We loved using Doorworks for our interior doors, and they’re made right here in North Carolina (woohoo!!!) so working with them was a no-brainer. The same goes for the incredible organizational style working with California Closets afforded us–it’s like every obsessively organized person’s dream come true!! (Hii, it’s me). And honestly, giving a toddler a walk-in-closet is way over the top, BUT it’s what the space allowed for, and I figured eventually it would be needed if she’s anything like her mama when she gets older and loves clothes… have you seen my closet tour???
I still love Leni’s big girl room as much as I did when I first showed it off. And as Leni grows, she seems to love it more and more too! Which room has been your favorite in the Home Tour blog series?? Anything you are hoping to see coming up??

Epic swooning going on over here!!
Why don’t you have any toys? Or at least pictures of toys? Why does it seem like showing any toys or kid related things (like a Frozen poster) etc. is taboo in your home? Also, just curious if you’re ever going to let her decorate her own room as she gets older?
Leni has plentttty of toys, but not in her room… otherwise she would never sleep. She’s three, so at this stage letting her decorate her own room seems extremely unnecessary but I’m sure she will someday!
Lovvvee what you did with Leni’s room! I’m sure she will be able to grow into it! Love the style of your house I am pro shiplap everything!!!!
Beautiful big girl bedroom…it is very warm, cozy and will grow with her.
Thank you! She LOVES it! It’s the first thing she shows everyone who comes to visit.
I Love her room. She’s a lucky little girl
Adore this room!! So much inspiration for my sweet girls big girl room that we will soon have to put together (all heartstrings are being tugged on) . Also, noticed how stinking cute her clothes are, where do you shop for most of her clothes? (She rocks all the vest, just like her mama!) Can’t wait to see ethier your room or Boone’s! Love all the inspiration.
Were the floral antlers the inspiration for the decorative pillow on the bed or vice versa? Was the pillow custom printed as well as the four pictures hanging on the wall? Love the gingham checks!!
I made the antler crown on the euro mount and then I decorated most of the other stuff based on that because I love the deer antlers so much! I bought Etsy prints and put them into frames from Hobby Lobby. The pillow was from a boutique in Raleigh but I’m sure you could find a similar one on Etsy or amazon!
it’s so simple yet so incredible. from the decorating to that gorgeous walk in closet! can you adopt me please???? i can be Mimi Sherry when Nana Weezy isn’t around. LOL
Hah yes please! We love Nanas!
I absolutely love Leni’s room and everything about it! I would like to know how you put the flowers in the mount. Did you just tuck them in there or did you glue it some how? I actually have a euro mount of a buck I killed while pregnant with my little girl as well and It is in her room but I never thought about the flowers. That would definitely add to her room and I just simply love it!
I would love to see your master room or your living room next! Your farmhouse decor is giving me great ideas for our home????
Love Love Love
Big fan of the antlers, we did this in our nursery didn’t know if we were having a girl or not but I love the idea of adding flowers when we move Remi to her big girl room in a few months ( scary )
Also, never thought of the no toys so she isn’t distracted. I knew I was going to have to take her books out of her room or a book shelf high up so she can’t reach them but never thought of the toys. Definitely going to use that when we move her over.
Thanks Eva – loving all the post
That’s so amazing! How did you do the antler, did you just randomly hot glue flowers to the skull?
Just FYI: the California closets link leads to Sherwin Williams!
So cute! I’m in love with all the shiplap! I agree with no toys otherwise they won’t sleep I have 2 girls and they have books in their room and that’s it. Although 1 is still in a crib. We have a play room for that purpose! Just curious does Leni get her own bathroom? Or will she share with Boone? My girls will be sharing!
Love her room it is so pretty!!! and she is so adorable I only have boys !!! But love all the girly things . I have always liked my boys to have a designated area for their toys and it was never a problem they were very spoiled happy and loved we had a what was called a toy room sometimes they would bring them out in the living room or kitchen but we put them back after they were done ! You have a nice family and a nice home ????
Oh I love this!! Such a sweet adorable room for the most perfect little princess ???? I absolutely love how you decorate!
Looove Leni’s room! So cozy! Do you mind sharing where you had the little name sign in her closet made?
I love her room! It is perfect for her to grow with! Are you going to be coming out with another bedding set sometime?! I love the ones you have done already just never got the chance to purchase before they sold out..
I love the furniture and all of the thought and planning you put into everything. Leni clearly loves her room after watching your stories and I’m sure she will appreciate the walk-in closet as she grows up!
You asked for advice about watching them grow up and the best tip I’ve received is to take lots of pictures (which you obviously do ????) but also to go one step further and print out the pictures every so often and write a funny quote or memory of what was happening in the photo so that they can go back and see who they were. I keep mine in a little box that my son will hopefully go through one day ????.
My husband and I live in Nunavut with our two boys (2.5 yrs and 8 months) and I started following you for the hunting content but our lives seem to have aligned in terms of family planning so I’ve enjoyed all of your baby content as well!! Keep it coming ????
I love this!!!!
Hi Eva! Yalls house is absolutely beautiful! I saw on your fb stories that amazing armoire in Leni’s room. Can you PLEASE share where that is from! ???? thanks so much!
Love it, everything is perfect. I love the floor and shiplap, great inspiration for my spare room????
Leni’s bedroom is ADORABLE!!!! Love all the decor and choices you made! I totally agree…no toys in the bedroom or no sleeping! It’s SO nice to have a space to contain all the toys as well! I’d love to see your bedroom next!
P.S. The California Closest link actually leads to Sherwin Williams. 🙂
Where did you find your interior door handles?
