Super Mama (or Man) Super Protein Smoothie

  1. Morgan says:

    Hi Eva,

Would you be able to give the recipe of your green smoothie?

    • Eva Shockey says:

      Hi Morgan,

The green smoothie I make is pretty similar to the one on this post. Just replace the frozen blueberries with frozen mango and/or frozen pineapple. It’s a great way to switch up the flavor! Hope you enjoy!

      Eva

  2. Mollie says:

One of my fave snacks lately has been Greek yogurt, chocolate magnum, and strawberries all mixed up together! ?

  3. Krista says:

Random question but what kind of straws do you use? Lol ?

  4. Jodeana says:

Have you ever tried shakeology? It’s my go to snack and FULL of superfoods and great nutrition.

  5. Debbie Bailey says:

Thanks Eva! Love the recipes and you make it look easy! My daughter is 22 now and my granddaughter is 3. We enjoy reading your blog and watching you ! Happy hunting!!!! ????

  6. Christine says:

Looks yummy I’m going to try it!

  7. Angie says:

Hey Eva! This sounds and looks amazing! Question though, if this recipe makes 2-3 smoothies, do you ever freeze what you don’t drink and then thaw the following day? Just wondering if it still tastes ok or if I should cut the recipe in 1/2 if I’ll be the only one drinking it. Thank you!

    P.S. Loving your blog!! 🙂

    • Eva Shockey says:

      Hi Angie,

I don’t know that you would need to freeze it, but I have put leftovers in the fridge and then added a little ice and a bit more frozen berries before blending again to cool and freshen it up the next day! It still tasted great!

      Eva

  8. Diane says:

Thank you Eva for your tips to Healthy living. I work from home to be able to take care of aging parents and husband and although it’s a blessing its also not been too good for my pschy or my body! I’ve always been an active person walking biking roller blading snow skiing and NOT lethargic. I’ve let that go and you are do right, when you’re healthy you’re a much better person altogether! The Way God intended us to be. My husband had open heart surgery 2yrs ago and suffers from total anxiety panic attacks. Needless to say we don’t go out much any longer but Your Blog and your posts just light up my life especially seeing Leni Bow and her priceless expressions. My husband will be 70 and I will be 65 in November and TODAY we have become Vitamix Smoothers! Its never too late to start Healthy LIVING! #betterlatethannever #planningyourrecipes

  9. Shelby says:

I love how you say aim to just be strong, happy and healthy so you feel better. I don’t have the words to describe how inspiring that is! Love love love reading your blogs!! Keep em coming Eva!
Btw I love Lenis facial expressions! She’s so flipping cute!

  10. shanna says:

My kids and I love smoothies! I don’t measure bc I just dump to get right consistency, but use unsweet almondmilk, blueberry greek yogurt, frozen berries mixed fruit, scoop of vanilla protein powder, and about 4 packets of splenda!

  11. Megan says:

I always love new smoothie recipes. I tend to get sick of the flavors fairly easily. On the go, pregnant, with two kids, protein shakes are what really help me sustain energy and make it through the long days, while my husband has been working out of town.

  12. Tarrah says:

    Hi Eva,

I love reading your blog and seeing your pictures. I was curious, where did you get your jacket in the pictures on this post? I LOVE the color and it looks like a good jacket I could throw on for my chilly, early morning gym sessions.

  13. Taylor Ebert says:

One of my favorite smoothies I make is with only three ingredients! Almond milk, chocolate shakeology (it’s literally so healthy and tasty please look it up, you’d love it) and frozen strawberries!! It tastes like I’m drinking a chocolate covered strawberry.

On the flip side I love this blog! I saw you out in Wisconsin for Deer Fest a few years ago and absolutely love you! My family also grows most of our veggies from the garden and eat what we harvest out in the woods. It’s amazing to see someone like you spread such positive vibes about that lifestyle! Leni Bow has a great mom and role model (:

  14. Katy says:

Hey Eva! Do you know if MTN OPS is ok during pregnancy? I don’t know much about it but would love to start making these smoothies!

  15. Tiffany says:

I love your outlook and healthy ideas! I’m starting my studies to become a certified personal trainer and hope to help people in the same way! Keep ’em coming!!

  16. Lissa Andrews says:

My new go to snack is dark Chocolate chips (73% or darker) with some coconut oil. Melted until smooth and creamy. Then dip strawberries. I love the little sweetness the coconut oil gives with out the sugar and helps with some of the bitterness of the dark chocolate.

  17. Rachel says:

Did you drink mtn ops during pregnancy as well? I am wondering if this is something i could make now during pregnancy, and also what products i will be able to use when I start breastfeeding.

    • Eva Shockey says:

      Hey Rachel,

First of all, congratulations! Yes, I used MTN OPS products during my pregnancy, but I would just recommend you check with your physician to be extra certain since every pregnancy is different. I hope you get the all-clear – this smoothie is so yummy!

      Eva

  18. Samantha says:

Could you recommend your favorite MTN products!? I love your healthy recipes and your tips.

  19. Melanie says:

Do you use flovoured yogurt or plain Greek?

  20. Tiffany says:

Hey Eva! I love reading your blog! I follow you on insta and have seen where you ask for different blog post ideas! I was wondering/ hoping if you could give some pointers on the types of works outs you did and if you did anything different with your diet throughout your pregnancy?? My husband drew a hunting expo elk tag at our Salt Lake City expo and his hunt is 3 weeks before our due date! I’m wanting to stay in really good shape so I can hopefully be next to him for that hunt :). Any pregnancy, or newborn, tips or tricks would be awesome as well! Thank you!!

  22. Amber Bair says:

Hi Eva! It says the recipe makes 2-3 servings. Do you just keep them in mason jars in the fridge? I’ve tried these before and I CANNOT get the spinach to blend well. Any secrets? Or just a good blender?

    Thanks!!

    • Eva Shockey says:

      Hi Amber,

I have put leftovers in the fridge before and then added a little ice and a bit more frozen berries before blending again to cool and freshen it up the next day! Hmm, be sure to put the ingredients in the blender in the order I list in the recipe, and if that still doesn’t help, you may need to add a little more water to the recipe. If you have an older blender, it also might not hurt to chop the spinach up just a bit before adding to the blender. Good luck!

  23. Emma says:

    Hey Eva!

I’m currently in a junior in college and have hit that almost 30 pound weight gain and just feel crummy. I know I need to get back in shape so I can fell as happy and healthy as I did before. What workout routines did you do to get back to your pre college fitness level?

    Thanks!

  24. Jennifer says:

    Hey Eva!
Thanks for sharing this recipe! I’m definitely in need of losing my baby weight (little guy to be born in next few weeks) and getting back into a healthier & stronger shape/lifestyle that I feel good about. I was wondering tho, do you use this as a meal replacement for breakfast/lunch or both? Do you typically do just one smoothie per day?

    • Eva Shockey says:

Yes! Generally I’ll have a smoothie either for breakfast when I’m on-the-go or I’ll make one mid-afternoon when I’m hungry between meals. I don’t purposely use it as a meal replacement, but I’m not a big breakfast fan so this is one of the few things that I like eating/drinking in the morning hours.

  25. Carleigh says:

    Hey Eva!
I would love to try this recipe as well as the vanilla Mtn Ops powder. Did you use the protein powder when you were pregnant with Leni? I’m six month prego and I would love to try it!!
    Thank you:)

Is protein powder like MTN OPS safe for little ones to have? My little guy is the same age as Leni!

  27. Michelle says:

    Hi Eva,
You mentioned collagen powder, which one would you recommend?
    Thanks!

I just have a quick question…I have been diagnosed with severe Lupus and RA 1 year ago and having a horrible time…my injections cause severe nausea, which in turn makes me not be able to keep food down for extended periods of time…it also keeps me from taking my oral medications, so I am looking for a good protein shake drink daily..I love to drink fruit smoothies, but I need to add some protein for energy…I am going to make the fruit/protein shake you have posted here, but spinach kills my stomach..so does kale… what could I substitute this with?

  36. Amanda mills says:

Can you use all 3 powders in a smoothie or is it best to do something different everyday? Just not sure how to use your signature series

  37. Courtney says:

    Hi Eva!
Can you and do you use your smoothies and smoothie bowls as meal replacements?! I was wondering if the protein mattered if you were doing a smoothie for breakfast work the egg whites and then a smoothie bowl for lunch with everything!
