    I appreciate the thought that getting kids cooking helps to combat childhood obesity. It makes sense to me that a person who learns to cook with real food ingredients instead of a bunch of processed shortcuts will develop an appreciation of real foods. It also makes sense to me that a diet based on those actual foods will help people, including children, to understand what they are really eating, and I think that kind of consideration is one of the keys to overcoming obesity.

    Eva,
    Being a life long Alaskan and weekly salmon eater there are many creative yet simple ways to cool salmon. Also I know youíre advertising for butcher box and Iím sure you do always use them. But have you thought about direct sourcing your salmon through a fisherman or local disributer in Alaska? You could get a larger quantity for cheaper and know where itís been, where it was caught, and much more fresh. Just a thought!

    My go to for quick dinner which is my gfís favorite is to make jasmine rice, cut the fillet into 2-3Ē wide chunks, coat with olive oil and rub salt/pepper into the meat(sometimes add garlic or crushed red pepper) cook meat side down for 3-4 min in a skillet on med-med/high then flip and cook skin side down for about the same time. Once I flip I pour 1/2 cup of yoshidas teriyaki, table spoon of brown sugar, and a couple table spoons of water and let it simmer for the last few min. Serve over the rice with broccoli or any other veggie and itís delish! Can also use stir fry veggies. Main thing with salmon is donít over cook, if youíre getting fat curdling out between the layers itís over done. Iíll give your recipe a try even though itís close to other ways I cook it. Another thing I do is can my silver salmon in mason jars as silvers (coho) donít keep as well in the freezer through the winter, but they can and smoke great. With a simple canned salmon you can quickly make salmon dip, salmon burgers, salmon tacos, pasta, etc!

    This is pretty similar to the way I make my alfredo, and itís probably my favorite dinner that I have ever posted! I havenít done it without scraping the cooked squash thoughĖI will definitely have to give it a try!

    Iíve boiled ground beef in bulk before, but Iíd never seen how to do it in the crockpot. Brilliant! Pre-cooked ground beef is such a huge time saver. Thanks for sharing this.
